remembering Acharaya Vinoba bhave-1

November 15th is Acharya Vinoba Bhave's Death Anniversary. I was on my

way to Europe. Vinobaji has been one of my inspiring spirits. I came to

know Vinobaji when I was teenager. He was on his Bhoodan Mission, on a

long walk of the whole counrty, for bringing social change through Love

and Compassion. He had been walking for fourteen long years through the

length and breadth of the whole counrty (1951-1965). This event amazed

and impressed me most. I started… Continue

NON-VIOLENT ACTION IS POSSIBLE IN ALL SITUATION?

I was speaking at the Catholic Worker, New York, it was 2nd October 2007 and the topics was Relevance of Gandhi in Present Times. I must tell you the day was not good, weather wise. I was not sure if some people will be able to come. To my surprise, it was a jampacked, people were standing soaked in rains. After I spoke about half an hour, there were a row of questions. One of the main questions was, Is nonviolent action is possible in a situation like Hitler Rule? I humbly said, yes it is… Continue

HOW AND WHERE DID I FIRST LEARN NONVIOLENCE -IN- ACTION IN MY LIFE ?

It was the month of June 1984, and I was at the University town of North California, named Arceta. Its name was Humbold State University. The program here, was organised by my young friend and a scholar Ben Sasway, who was the Coordinator of my program in North California. I must say a sentence more about Ben. It was he how was the first Draft- Resister after the Vietnam War, in United States. There were about 100 students and faculty members attending the meeting in the hall. The subject was… Continue

AYURVEDA KITCHEN---2

In my first blog on AK, I have suggested that if we can reduce the amount of salt and shuger in our daily intake of our meals we can get rid of hypertension, diabetics, heart trouble and many other problems that 80% of people have been suffering from as per my own clinical experiences with my patients in Europe, UK, USA and former USSR, for the last more than twenty five years of my Ayurvedic practice. Actually speaking we are not very clear about our own body, though we have won over the moon… Continue

GANDHI & AYURVEDA IN THE WEST----6

In 1987 one of the main events were Gandhi-in-Action's first deplometic relations with the then USSR. The USSR's then External Afair Minister Eduerd Shevardnadze wrote to Secretary General the then of the United Nations, that the last decade of the 20th Century be celebrated as the decade of celebrating "Building a Nuclear-weapon-Free & Non-violent World Order." This News was flashed by Tass, the then USSR Goverment News Agency.

I wrote a letter of congratulations…

GANDHI AND AYURVEDA IN THE WEST----5

Rimini is one of the beautiful tourist spots on the Adriatic Coast about 100 kms. from Bologna.

I was there for a day. Dr. Kapil drove there to show me the work of AIMA.

One of the students of AIMA, Nazzareno Guerra, has been developing and promoting Ayurveda. It is surprising that people are taking deep interest in Ayurvedic treatment instead of allopathy.

There were 10 patients who were eagerly waiting for me.

Nazzareno was having a big health food shop…

MY LATEST VISIT TO VALSESIA VALLEY

From 21st to 23rd of June, I paid my 68th visit to Velsesia to visit one of my first friends in Italy. Riccardo Gramegna. It was in 1982 that I met for the first time in India when Riccardo and his wife Margarete were exploring the foot prints of Mahatma Gandhi and had stayed with my family as SERVAS members. They were totally new entry to the Gandhian movement from the West at that young age. I was till then have never been to any Western country. This young couple was very much active in…

A TRIBUTE TO GAUR JI

Shri Om Prakash Gaur was one of the very few people who had played the role of the foundation-stones in building the Servodaya movement, in the history of modren India. Right from his student-age he had devoted his whole life for the selfless service of the motherland in the real sence. He never aspired for any thing to enhance his narrow-selfish motive. When he died on the 13th June 2010 in Srvodaya Satsand Ashram, Haridwar, he had left behind him nothing except his countless memories of…
